The idea
On Tilzz, a story is never finished. Someone starts, another reader writes the next episode, and anyone who wants a different ending branches the story off. Readers browse through episodes, bookmark favorites, and see which stories are trending.
Test first, then build
The concept was tested in an initial version first and then rebuilt from scratch. Only once it was clear what people actually used was the current version built.
What goes into it
A platform where anyone can write needs more than a text box. There are notifications and moderation, users can block each other, and writers can be paid out. That is the part you don't see, but that has to be there before opening it up.
One codebase, web and app
The web app and mobile app share a single codebase; the app is built from it for Android and iOS. The backend runs on frmwrk, our own PHP framework, and everything is hosted on Sarpius. The Android app is currently in testing on Google Play.
